RAY SANDERS, EXECUTIVE  DIRECTOR


Ray Sanders,Executive Director of Albion SC Central Cal, is a 15 year coaching veteran whose playing career included youth experience with Claremont Stars (4 time National Cup Champions) and stops at Fresno Pacific University (NAIA), Cal State Northridge (D1) and the Premier Development League (PDL) for the Bakersfield Brigade. It was while playing for the Brigade that Ray started his coaching career. Rays first team quickly began to turn heads when his team flew to the top of Coast Soccer League as well as producing several state ODP players and one US National Team U17 player. It was at this time that Ray chose to team up with his childhood friend, Ricardo Gutierrez, to form Central Cal Blues which would later become Central California Aztecs.
 
While under Rays watch the CC Aztecs have produced teams that have won state championships, national championship as well as participated in some of the highest competition in youth soccer like California Regional League (CRL), Coast League Premier, National Premier league and Dallas Cup. In 2013 the Aztecs were awarded the U13/14 US academy and later received B12-14 Development Academy Team status. Additionally through Rays leadership and mentorship the Aztecs have produced 13 players that have been called into US Youth National team camps as well as 12 players into MLS academies. Currently the Aztecs have an active working relationship with the Seattle Sounders and have sent Marlon Vargas, Bryson Hankins and Omar Martinez to the Seattle to play for the Sounders academy. Currently Marlon Vargas and John Pulskamp are both playing professionally in the USL as teenagers. Ray has helped guide dozens and dozens of players to D1, D2, D3 and NAIA colleges across the country.
 
Ray currently holds his USSF C license and has attended coaching courses in Barcelona, Holland (Ajax) as well as a Coerver Coaching certification and Vision Training Certification. Through Rays vision and leadership he has helped shape a new culture in Bakersfield soccer and has raised the standards of soccer development throughout the community.
